What is NEET?
The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test or NEET is the country’s sole medical entrance examination, through which all medical colleges, run by the central and state governments, as well as private institutions and minority institutions, will admit students. About NEET 2017 Eligibility Criteria
The students are advised that before filling up the application form they must look up for the eligibility criteria. Criteria may differ as per the State or All India basis. Application form will be available from first week of December, after that interested candidates may go for registration process. 1. Candidate must have cleared their 10+2 with subjects-Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology and English which is considered to be the Compulsory subject. 2. The candidate must have acquired their minimum aggregate of 50%(general) and 40%(ST/SC/OBC) and for PH general the minimum of 45% and for ST/SC/OBC handicapped is 40% 3. Candidates who are appearing for the qualifying examination can also apply for NEET 2017 as they are required to show their passing certificate along with the %criteria at the time of counselling session of the 1st 4. Marks which are acquired in Maths will not be considered for admission to MBBS/BDS courses

Will admission to AIIMS and JIPMER also be through NEET?
No, AIIMS and JIPMER were established through separate acts of Parliament. Thus, these institutions do not fall within the purview of NEET. These institutions will be conducting their own tests for admission process.

What is the minimum qualification for appearing in NEET-UG, 2018 for candidates of reserved category?
In respect of the candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes or Other Backward Classes, the marks obtained in Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Bio-technology taken together in qualifying examination shall be 40% marks instead of 50% marks prescribed for General category Candidates.

What is the minimum qualification for appearing in NEET-UG, 2018 for candidates of unreserved category?
CODE : 02 The Higher/Senior Secondary Examination or the Indian School Certificate Examination which is equivalent to 10+2 Higher/Senior Secondary Examination after a period of 12 years study, the last two years of such study comprising of Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Bio-technology (which shall include practical tests in these subjects) and Mathematics or any other elective subject with English at a level not less than the core course for English as prescribed by the National Council of Educational Research and Training after introduction of the 10+2+3 educational structure as recommended by the National Committee on Education. Provided that 2 year of regular and continuous study of Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Bio-technology taking together shall be required at 10+2 level for all the candidates. Candidates who have passed 10+2 from Open Schools or as private candidate shall not be eligible to appear for NEET (UG). Furthermore, study of Biology/Bio-technology as an additional subject at 10+2 level also shall not permissible. NOTE: where the course content is not as prescribed for 10+2 education structure of the National Committee, the candidates will have to undergo a period of one year pre - professional training before admission to the Medical Colleges.

What is the minimum qualification for appearing in NEET-UG, 2018 for candidates of physically handicapped category?
In respect of candidates with Bench Mark Disabilities specified under the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016, the minimum marks shall be 45% instead of 50% for General category candidates and 40% for SC-PH/ST-PH/OBC-PH candidates.

What is the minimum qualification for appearing in NEET-UG, 2018 for candidates of Foreign Nationals?
The minimum qualification for appearing in NEET-UG, 2018 for candidates of Foreign Nationals are same as for Indians. Further that the students educated abroad seeking admission into medical colleges in India must have passed in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Bio-technology and English up to the 12th standard level with 50% marks and their equivalency determined as per regulations of the Medical Council of India and the concerned University.

What is the number of attempts for appearing in NEET-UG?
There is no cap for number of attempts. (As per letter no. U.12023/16/2010-ME-II dated 06/12/2017 of MoH & FW)

Is there any seat in MBBS/BDS on which admission will be made without appearing in NEET-UG?
No. Admissions in 100% MBBS/BDS seats will be done through the NEET-UG only.

If a candidate of Karnataka opting Delhi a centre and can opt for Kannada medium.
No. Kannada medium can be available only in the Centre cities located in Karnataka.

If a candidate is opting English as medium of question paper, in which language candidate will be provided Test Booklet?
Candidates opting for English would be provided Test Booklet in English only.

If a candidate is opting Hindi as medium of question paper, in which language candidate will be provided Test Booklet?
Candidates opting for Hindi would be provided Bilingual Test Booklet i.e. in Hindi and in English. In case of any ambiguity in translation of any of the questions, its English version shall be treated as final.

If a candidate is opting regional language as medium of question paper, in which language candidate will be provided Test Booklet?
Candidates opting for regional languages would be provided Bilingual Test Booklet i.e. in selected language and in English. In case of any ambiguity in translation of any of the questions, its English version shall be treated as final.

Can I change the option of language once the form is submitted?
Option once exercised, cannot be changed after submission of application form. As centres will be allotted based on medium of question paper, candidates need to be very careful in choosing of medium of question paper.

Is there any change in the pattern of NEET-UG?
No. NEET-UG-2018 will be having objective type. The Entrance Test shall consist of one paper in all languages containing 180 objective type questions (four options with single correct answer) from Physics, Chemistry and Biology (Botany & Zoology) to be answered on the specially designed machine-gradable sheet using Ball Point Pen provided by CBSE at examination centre only.

Which dress code should be followed while appearing for the NEET examination.
The candidates are instructed to follow the following dress code while appearing for NEET(UG): (a) Light clothes with half sleeves not having big buttons, brooch/badge, flower etc. with Salwar/Trouser. (b) Slippers, sandals with low heels and not the shoes. Further, If candidate is wearing customary dress he/she need to report at the allotted examination centre latest by 8.30 AM on the day of examination

My daughter/son is residing in abroad and he/she does not have Aadhaar Card. What information is to be provided against Aadhaar Number.
In case of NRI, they are supposed to provide either Aadhaar Card No. or Passport No. In case of Foreigners/OCI, they are supposed to provide Passport No.

The result of NEET-UG, 2018 will be uploaded on the website www.cbseneet.nic.in,www.cbseresults.nic.in as per schedule.

If one does not get Admit Card, whom should he contact?
Admit cards will not be sent to candidates. These will be uploaded on website. Candidates need to download the Admit Card from the website only.
